4 Professional Tips for Streak-Free Glass.

Updated: Mar 9, 2022

Our South African summer is nearing its end and you might want to make the most of the last bit of sun, by giving your windows a good clean. Or maybe you are just tired of looking at your beautiful frameless shower, blurred with streaks and suds.

We know streak-free glass surfaces feel a bit ambitious. But, we are here to assure you that it might not be as challenging as it seems. We have been manufacturing aluminium and glass products for over 20 years now, and have a few tricks up our sleeve to leave glass streak-free.

How To Clean Glass Effectively

1. Use good cleaning Solutions

I know you have heard of vinegar and water. But trust us when we say, that spending a few rands will save you a lot of money. In our experience we have found Mr Sheen, Clearview to work wonders and it cost about R38. It also smells good!

2. Rags

All rags are not meant to clean windows. Microfibre cloth works best, but if you are on a tight budget - make use of your old newspaper. Avoid using paper towels and cotton cloths.

3. Wiping technique

Changing direction as you wipe glass will help avoid streaks. The first scrub in circular motions, then switch to vertical swipes and then horizontal. This ensures you pick up all the residue.

4. Last Step - dry cloth

When you are done with the elbow grease, take a dry rag/cloth and give the surface a buff in the areas where you can still see some streaking. Again avoid fabric that sheds lint.

That is it, enjoy the satisfaction of crystal clear glass!
